Museo Tattile Statale Omero

The Museo Omero was created to enable people with visual disabilities to learn about art through a direct tactile approach.
We have over 200 sculptures and architectural models. They all have captions and panels in Braille and can (must) be touched.

Activities for families (Children friendly)

At the entrance to the Museum, you can always find free activities that children can do on their own, such as ‘Museum animals’,

Online Collection (Digital access)

You can explore the entire collection online and search by place or object type

Reception and mobility (Getting around inside the museum)

The museum rooms are all easy to reach and are provided with reception and accessibility services. All the museum rooms are accessible as there are lifts.

Seating and refreshments (Complementary Offer)

Seating is available throughout the exhibition, there is a refreshment area with vending machines for coffee and water, a meeting room for welcoming groups.

Touchable objects (Tactile Experiences)

The entire collection can be explored by touch. Descriptions in Braille and large print are also provided. Mobile viewing platforms with steps are available for exploring our larger sculptures.
