Tampereen Taidemuseo / Tampere Art Museum
The collection under Tampere Art Museum’s management is the second largest in Finland. It comprises some 15 000 works and several sub-collections. Internationally, the best known part is the Moominvalley collection of Tove Jansson’s original illustrations and Tuulikki Pietilä’s tableaux. Tampere Art Museum also manages the Tampere City collections, situated in offices and institutions, schools, kindergartens, hospitals and other premises owned and managed by the city.Access preferences

A spacious toilet suitable for persons utilizing accessibility tools with an emergency call button is in the basement. If arriving by elevator, first take a turn to the right and then left. The art museum is a toilet pass location. If necessary, contact the staff for more information and describe your service needs.
- By public transport or bike (Getting there)
The Tampere Art Museum has good public transport connections by the Pyynikintori plaza. The closest stops are the “Pyynikintori” bus stops. Buses from the railway station take about 15 min. Bicycles may be parked at the bicycle stands on the yard of the Tampere Art Museum that are located on the left-hand side of the building.

Easiest access to the museum is from the Puutarhakatu side. An easily accessible ramp starts from the left side of the main door stairs. There is an automatic opening button on the door. A wheelchair and baby carriage are available for loan by the coat check. Folding chairs are also available. The staff will be happy to assist you. The elevator is on the left side of the ticket desk. The door of the elevator does not open automatically but our staff is happy to help you. The art museum has three floors, with the entrance on the middle floor.
