Poliisimuseo / Police Museum

At the Police Museum, you can sit in a police van, take a picture of yourself in the suspect registration chair and watch old films about the police. Our exhibitions tell the history of the Finnish police and policing from the middle ages to the current day. Entry into the museum is free. In the special children’s section young museum visitors can wear police overalls.

Visitors may use the museum’s wireless internet (WLAN/WiFi). Login details can be found in the museum’s entrance hall.

Free parking and disabled parking spaces. (Parking)

The museum is easy to get to by both public transport and by car. Free parking is available in the parking area in front of the museum. We have a number of disabled parking spaces.

Support dogs allowed (Animals)

Guide, support and hearing dogs are allowed inside the museum. Pets are not allowed inside the museum.

Tactile objects (Tactile Experiences)

The museum has a wall of items on which we have collected police tools and equipment which may be touched and examined. The descriptions of these items are also available in Finnish braille.

The website conforms for the most part to the statutory WCAG 2.1 accessibility requirements at level A and AA, and the website does not have any critical accessibility issues. The primary accessibility issues of the website are described in this document.

Wheelchairs and seating (Accessible entrance for pushchairs and wheelchairs)

All public spaces are located on a single floor. The museum has benches where visitors can rest while exploring the exhibitions. There is also a wheelchair visitors can borrow.
