The City Museum’s mission is to increase knowledge of and interest in Stockholm’s history. The City Museum is a knowledge institution that cares for Stockholm’s common memory and cultural heritage. They research and document, inventory, publish and disseminate knowledge about the city. They manage extensive collections that are constantly growing. By understanding how the city has grown and how varied life has been for Stockholmers at different times, we get better opportunities to understand today’s city. You can take part in exhibitions, tours, city walks and other activities that provide opportunities for experiences, learning and deepening for both children and adults.Access preferences

Toilets, including accessible toilets, are available on the ground, first and second floors. Baby changing stations are available on the ground and first floors.

Fixed hearing loop are available at the information desk on floor 0 swell as the auditorium on floor 2.

The museum is built on three floors and it is easy to get around with a wheelchair and walker. The only exception is at the top of the museum where there are steep stairs up to the Pihlqvist family’s home. Otherwise, there are always ramps as an alternative to stairs.
