Sant Cugat (Spain)

Museu del Monestir de Sant Cugat

The Monastery Museum serves as a knowledge and cultural dissemination center for the former Monastery of Sant Cugat, a powerful Benedictine center with a thousand years of monastic life. The museum is located in the cloister, the most outstanding space of the complex due to the imposing Romanesque sculpture of its capitals and the self-portrait of the sculptor Arnau Cadell, author of a large part of the complex. It houses the permanent exhibition "Prayer, work and power", which explains the history and architecture of the monastery, and offers a wide range of cultural proposals and activities.
