ARKTIKUM

Arktikum is home to the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland and the Regional Museum of Lapland. On both sides of Arktikum’s iconic glass tube, the two institutions bring you exhibition experiences that educate and spark ideas and discussion.

Handicapped toilet facilities are located in the upper corridor on the left side of the coat racks.

Guide and service dogs welcome (Animals)

Parking options (Parking)

There is four hours of free parking at the Arktikum parking lot using a parking disc. Handicapped parking spaces are located in Arktikum’s courtyard. Buses may leave visitors at the main entrance, but we have designated bus parking that is specifically marked.

Wheelchair accessible (Accessible entrance for pushchairs and wheelchairs)

Arktikum’s main entrance door is automatic, however, accessibility can be somewhat hampered by the heavy doors leading to the exhibitions. Elevators are located on both sides of the main corridor, past the information desk and museum shop, right before the stairs. Wheelchairs and strollers can be borrowed free of charge from the information desk.
