Riga (Latvia)

Latvian National Museum of Natural History

The museum collects, preserves and stores Latvian and world nature collections, studies the specimens therein, and popularises the museum's collections through exhibitions, and other activities. The museum’s values of discovering, interpreting, and disseminating are the basic tenets of environmental education. The Latvian National Museum of Natural History operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development.

Guided Tours (Group and Tours)

Excursions are guided by a museum educator or a specialist in the respective field.
Tours lasts from 45 to 60 minutes.
The maximum number of persons per group is 30.
We offer tours in Latvian, Russian and English.

We strive to be open and accessible to all. (Accessibility)

The Latvian National Museum of Natural History is located in a historical building that has been declared as a State Cultural Monument, yet the museum has been redesigned as much as possible to be accessible to people with reduced mobility and visitors with a baby carriage (i.e. the elevator from the first to the sixth floor). We are also gradually making other improvements (for example, we provide information in Braille, exhibit tangible items, etc.).
