Musée Sainte-Croix
The Musée Sainte-Croix is the largest museum in Poitiers, France. Planned by the architect poitevin Jean Monge and built in 1974, it stands at the site of the former Abbaye Sainte-Croix, which was moved to Saint-Benoît, Vienne. Access preferences
- Entrance (Accessible entrance for pushchairs and wheelchairs)
The main entrance to the museum , 61 rue Saint-Simplicien, is fitted out to PMR standards (people with reduced mobility). The reception, the ground floor (medieval collections and part of the Fine Arts, 16th -19th centuries ) , and the temporary exhibition room (if exhibition in progress) are thus accessible to people in wheelchairs .
- Guide dogs (Animals)
Assistance dogs for people with disabilities and/or vulnerabilities are authorized to enter the museum, upon presentation of proof.
- Parking (Parking)
Parking spaces specifically allocated to people with reduced mobility (PRM) are located near the museum, rue Saint-Simplicien and rue Paschal-Lecoq.
- Tours (Group and Tours)
We organize, on request , specific activities for groups of adults and children with motor, sensory (hearing and visual), mental, cognitive and psychological disabilities.
- Visiting (Getting around inside the museum)
The museum floors are inaccessible to wheelchairs and difficult to access for people with reduced mobility due to a large number of stairs.
