Munch Museum, marketed as Munch since 2020, is an art museum in Bjørvika, Oslo, Norway dedicated to the life and works of the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. The museum was originally located at Tøyen, which was opened in 1963.

Access preferences

Arriving by bicycle on (or by foot) (Bicycle parking)

The museum is centrally located, 10 min by foot from Oslo Central Station. Bicycle parking outside the museum. City Bike Stops: Sukkerbiten, Rostockgata, Bjørvika.

Disabled parking (Parking)

There are 3 reserved parking spaces for people with reduced mobility with HC cards on the east side of the Opera, by Oda Lasson's bridge.

There is no parking without a disabled parking card.

Food and drink can be bought in the museums cafe, bar and restaurant.

Guide dogs welcome (Animals)

Access with guide dog allowed.

Norwegian sign language in the museum (Acoustic Experiences)

Special tours with Norwegian sign language. Telecoil in event spaces (Amfi, Sky Room and Festsal).

Closest stop: Bjørvika (tram, bus) and Munch Bjørvika (boat).

Strollers and baby carriers (Children friendly)

Baby strollers can not be brought into the exhibition halls, parking can be found outside the main entrance. We have baby carriers and strollers for loan. Hiking carriers can not be brought into the exhibition halls.

Wheelchair accessiblity and seating (Accessible entrance for pushchairs and wheelchairs)

MUNCH is accessible for mobility-impaired visitors, including those with a need for large electric wheelchairs, and built according to today's requirements for universal design. Lift measurements: 152x135 cm.

Seating throughout the museum, stepless access and elevators.
