Maritiman

In the historical waters in the heart of Gothenburg, all their celebrated vessels are moored and ready to be rediscovered by you! There, in a playful and exciting way, with the help of sailors' stories, exhibitions, children's activities and ship history, you can learn a lot about life at sea, without even leaving the dock. After all the exploring, it's probably high time for a coffee, ice cream or snack onboard café Matrosen. At Maritiman, a whole world of excitement, adventure and new discoveries awaits!

Location (Getting there)

Maritiman is moored at Packhuskajen quay in central Gothenburg. Its immediate neighbors are Göteborgsoperan (the opera house) and Kajskjul 8. It takes around ten minutes to walk to Maritiman from Gothenburg Central Station, Brunnsparken and Drottningtorget.

Parking options (Parking)

The closest place to park is right outside Maritiman, at the Packhuskajen quay. However, during the season this may be affected by the ongoing infrastructure projects. There is also a multi-storey car park at the Nordstan shopping centre.

Strollers, walkers and wheelchairs (Getting around inside the museum)

Packhuskajen is under renovation, which means we have a temporary entrance with level differences. Therefore, please bring a baby carrier for your child if possible, and feel free to park the stroller on the quay. If you need to use an alternative route with a stroller/walker/wheelchair to board the facility, please inform our staff. Maritiman exhibits ships in their original condition, which means some have high thresholds and steep ladders for getting aboard. It is not possible, therefore, to move around by wheelchair.
