Haus der Geschichte
Experience history – at the Haus der Geschichte. We present German history from the end of the Second World War to the present – in exhibitions, events, online projects and publications. In our permanent exhibition “Our History. Germany since 1945”, we showcase more than 7,000 objects that outline German contemporary history from 1945 to the present.Access preferences
- Dogs (Animals)
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted inside the museum and the exhibitions.
- Parking for wheelchair users (Parking)
Parking spaces for wheelchair users are to be found in the underground car park at the Haus der Geschichte. The entrance is on Rheinweg.
- Public transport (Getting there)
You can get to the museum by public transport using underground (U-Bahn) lines 16, 63, 66, 67 and 68 to the station “Heussallee/Museumsmeile”. Use the station lifts to reach street level.
- Touching (Tactile Experiences)
We offer a range of exhibits that can be touched by hand for each of our major exhibitions. Gloves to be used when touching the exhibits can be borrowed from the Information Desk.
- Wheelchair mobility (Accessible entrance for pushchairs and wheelchairs)
The museum exhibitions and public spaces are predominantly wheelchair accessible.
