There are stairs in front of the museum, which can be avoided by taking a small diversions. Parking spaces for the disabled are available next to the museum on Barfüssergasse. A lift provides access to all relevant parts of the building except the rear part of the church. Two wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge. See also Procap access monitor (German only)

Basel Historical Museum with its 3 houses is committed to barrier-free access, as well as to the encounter and togetherness of people with and without impairments.

Technical equipment is available in all three houses: For guided tours, a microphone and headphones are used (suitable for induction loops), thus significantly improving the acoustics. The media stations are designed for hearing loops (t-loops) throughout.
