KØN - Gender Museum Denmark, formerly Kvindemuseet, is a history museum in Aarhus, Denmark focused on the cultural history of gender and sexuality in Denmark. KØN was originally founded in 1982 as a women's history museum, and is housed in the former Aarhus City Hall, built in 1857.

Access preferences

Disabled parking (Parking)

There are many parking facilities close to the museum (by Dokk1, Navitas, the Aarhus Cathedral, and Magasin department store).

You will find parking for disabled citizens in front of the Hotel Royal, across from the Cathedral.

Service dogs (Animals)

Service dogs are welcome at the Gender Museum.

Wheelchair access (Accessible entrance for pushchairs and wheelchairs)

It is possible to visit all rooms by elevator, except for "The History of Boys and Girls" (Permanent excibition).
