Focus On: Museums in Bergen

Intro

Bergen is the second largest city in Norway with almost 300 thousand inhabitants. It is a beautiful city worth a visit with loads of museums.

Bymuseet

Bymuseet is a foundation encompassing nine museums in Bergen. The museums give a great look in to the history of Bergen. Bryggens Museum is one of Bymuseet museums and contains artifacts from the history of bergen as well as activities for children making it a great museum for the whole family.
Other noteworthy museums of the bymuseet foundation is, The Leprosy Museum – St. Jørgen’s Hospital, The Rosenkrantz Tower

Maritime museums

Bergen also has its own maritime museum called Bergen Maritime Museum showing Norway and especially Bergens maritime history from ancient times up until now. Bergen also houses Norway Fisheries Museum which is show the fishing history for the whole of Norway as well as Norway's costal heritage.
